Credit cards are awesome money-saving tools when used wisely. I use my credit card for all my travel bookings. It's quick, it allows me to book online and I get instant discounts. I also use my card during my trip as it is a lot safer than carrying hundreds of dollars in cash in your pockets.

But I respect one fundamental rule: I pay my bills, every month, without exception. If you can't respect that rule, you are better not to use a credit card because you will end up loosing money (due to high interest rates).
