My first suggestion is a 100%-free souvenir. What is it exactly? It's about memories and how to make sure that you bring back home tons of those great memories that make a vacation last a lifetime.
I know, you are looking for more concrete souvenirs and gifts. I'll get to that. Maui Beer
Maui is now brewing its own beer from local ingredients at the Maui Brewing Co. And it seems to work quite well, since Maui Brewing Co. products won several medals at the 2011 US Open Beer Championship. Try it and bring some back home for your friends to taste. Maui Brewing Co. Maui Wine
Yes, it's true. Maui produces wine. Visit the one and only upcountry Maui's Winery (Tedeschi Vineyards) at Ulupalakua Ranch and take home a bottle or two. The drive to Kula is great and the scenery awesome. Take a tour and taste the different products: sparkling, pineapple, grape and raspberry dessert wine. Great souvenirs available at the gift shop: glassware, wine accessories, clothing and more.

Maui Jams, Jellies and more!
If you like all sorts of jams, jellies, butters, condiments and seasonings, you should have a look at Jeff's Jams & Jellies products. 100% Maui. 100% unique and tasty products cooked by Jeffrey Gomes, chef and owner. Maui fruits are a pure treasure. They are juicy and tasty. Get them at the Swap Meet market or stop at one of the stands along the road to get them as fresh as possible. Be aware that not all fruits can travel with you. See US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) website

Avoid bad surprises. Make sure you know what is and what is not allowed on the plane, especially for international travelers. If you are looking for a souvenir that last a lifetime, Maui Jewelry is your choice. Many skilled artisans located in Maui transform diamonds, rare gems, corals and pearls into exquisite jewels. Look for Hawaii's star and official state gem: the rare and precious black coral. Collection of this ocean treasure is carefully managed to ensure its sustainability.
If you want a very unique souvenir, ask for Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry. These hand-engraved jewels are very popular among locals. Koa is Hawaii's largest forest tree. Craftsmen use Koa wood to create beautiful bowls, picture frames, boxes and the famous ukuleles. Look for Koa wood creations at the Swat Meet market and in many galleries and art shops in Paia, Lahaina and Makawao's.

Handmade Ceramic, Christmas Ornaments and More!
Hand made ceramic is another locally crafted unique souvenir. Nothing can beat the Humuhumunukunukuapuaa Fish Plate. Try to pronounce it again! A great coffee table book is one of my favorite souvenirs to take back home. Look for those in bookstores (like Barnes and Noble) and gift shops or shop online for even more choices.

If your prefer to hang Maui on your walls, get a beautiful painting from one of the many talented local artists (some renowned worldwide). Lahaina, Paia and Makawao are full of galleries.

Where to Find Gifts and Souvenirs on Maui
Maui welcomes so many tourists all-year round that finding a gift shop is not hard. Here are a few additional suggestions.
- Lahaina's main street is a must-see. Awesome galleries and a lot of gift shops, clothing shops, etc. You will be surrounded by tourist.
- Paia's main street is a welcoming spot. Lots of galleries and gift shops without the overwhelming tourist feel of Lahaina.
- Makawao's main street is also a favorite with its unique upcountry flavor. Some great galleries.
- The Maui Swap Meet is a popular market held every Saturdays in Kahului (310 Kaahumanu Ave. Info: 808 877 3100). A good place to meet local farmers and craftspeople.
- The Whalers Villager is Kaanapali Resorts shopping center
- The Shops at Wailea is Wailea's luxury shopping center
- The Kalama Village is Kihei best spot for souvenirs shop 1913 S Kihei Rd Kihei South Maui
- If you need some cold air, do some shopping in the air-conditioned Lahaina Cannery Mall
- ABC Stores is THE cheap tourist shop. When it comes to mainstreams souvenirs, it has almost everything.
- Hilo Hattie is a little bit more expansive than ABC.
- Queen Kaahumanu Center is a Large shopping mall in Kahului
- You can also look for souvenirs in most Hotel lobbies
